  • Public Health 101

    Introduction to public health for workforces new to the field. Includes common terminology, popular theories, and real-world examples of public health campaigns.

  • Social Determinents of Health

    3-part workshop series (1.5 hours each) outlining the five pillars of social determinants of health (economic, medical, education, built environment, social and community context), equity vs. equality, implicit and explicit bias, and real-world strategies to address SDoH in public health.

  • HIPAA

    Ensuring remote and in-person teams that handle protected health information (PII) and/or personally identifiable information (PHI) are in compliance with the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

  • Qualitative Data Collection

    Effective strategies and best practices for focus groups, key informant interviews, structured group interviews, and other forms of qualitative data collection (in-person, audio recordings, transcriptions, telephone interviews, electronic surveys).

  • Interviewing Older Adults

    Effective strategies in interviewing older adults, including environmental and organizational strategies, communication best practices, implicit bias, and right-branching sentence structures.

  • Managing Your Email Inbox

    Effective strategies for handling email, including communication and writing strategies to encourage email responsiveness, managing email inboxes and to-do lists, Eisenhower matrices, and archiving and storage. Includes realistic strategies that are ready to be implemented immediately upon completion of the training.

  • Organizational Effectiveness

    Understanding personal organizational styles and project coordination style; overview of effective strategies for project management and task management for nonprofit employees.

  • Thriving in the Office // Effective Communication Strategies

    Office politics will never go away! This session covers effective communication strategies (written, verbal, virtual, and in-person) and strategies to address diverse, multi-generational office environments to ensure workforces are set up for collaboration and success.

  • Conducting Meaningful Focus Groups

    Overview of conducting focus groups and surveys while fostering safe, productive environments. Potential areas of focus include the use of effective probing techniques, handling distractions and nonsensical contributions during focus group discussions, making meaning of qualitative data in multiple languages, subsidence, communication, and neutral attitudes towards drug use and citizenship status. Instrument design, the role of the facilitator, notetaker, and logistics manager, and effective recruitment strategies are covered.

  • Analyzing Qualitative Data

    Overview of analyzing qualitative data utilizing Dedoose or QDA Data Miner software. Includes overview of software, pros and cons of qualitative data analysis software packages, and effective database management strategies.
